Construction Estimator/Land Development

McBride Homes Land Strategy seeks an Estimator to provide accurate and detailed quantity estimates for residential land development projects. McBride Land Strategy is a leader in residential land development in Missouri. We specialize in transforming raw land into vibrant communities by delivering high-quality civil site work including earthwork, utilities, and paving. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Estimator to join our team and help drive continued success.

Salary range: $55,000 - $65,000/yr.

Responsibilities include:

• Review and interpret civil engineering plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports
• Quantify materials and labor using takeoff software and manual methods
• Develop detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for site development scopes
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather pricing and clarify scope.
• Maintain and update unit cost data, historical pricing, and productivity factors
• Identify value engineering opportunities and potential scope risks
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed
• Support the transition from estimating to operations with a clear handoff and project documentation

Requirements:

• Demonstrated high proficiency using Microsoft Excel
• Strong understanding of civil construction components including grading, utilities, and paving
• Demonstrated proficiency using estimating/production software (Bluebeam and Planswift)
• High School Diploma or equivalent. Preference given to candidates with associate or bachelor's degree
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in estimating (residential or commercial)
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment
• Ability to work independently and take initiative

• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner
• The candidate must submit to a mandatory drug test and background check.
