McBride Homes, Missouri's largest builder with developments across the St. Louis Metro area including St. Louis County, St. Charles County, Jefferson County, and Franklin County, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced architect to join our team. As the industry leader in residential new construction, we are proudly celebrating our 75th year in business and have built over 35,000 homes across the Saint Louis area. We are looking for a residential-focused architect to become the Director of Architecture. Located in our new state-of-the-art office in Chesterfield Valley, the Director of Architecture will be providing strategic leadership, specifically developing and leading a high-performance team responsible for all design, permitting, and construction support.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage all structural calculations and design for residential construction.
• Oversee all design, with a focus on innovation of new products.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, and construction documents with an emphasis on navigating the many building codes and specifications of Saint Louis municipalities.
• Review, sign, and seal all outgoing drawings to permitting authorities.
• Provide construction support through advising and assisting project managers, builders, subcontractors, and superintendents.
• Direct and lead architectural staff.

General Skills:

• A working knowledge of AutoCad and Revit.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience integrating and coordinating all disciplines into the building project.
• Strong design skills in all phases of design.
• Public speaking and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of building materials, specification and construction techniques.

Qualifications

• Licensed and registered architect in the state of Missouri.
• 5+ years of professional experience within the residential industry.
• Expert in residential new construction.
