Paralegal

McBride Homes, Missouri's largest homebuilder has an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to join our team. Located in our new state-of-the-art office in Chesterfield Valley, the Paralegal will provide support to the Legal Department, focusing on: (1) the formation and monitoring of certain financing improvement districts within McBride residential communities ("CID" Communities); and (2) direct and oversee McBride's participation in homeowner associations (HOAs). The Paralegal will be thoroughly trained regarding CIDs and HOAs; prior experience is not required. This position may include supervisory duties and will report directly to McBride's in-house counsel and McBride's Project Management Team Members.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting in-house counsel with the formation and monitoring of CID Communities. This work shall include, but is not limited to, the following for each CID Community:
  • Creating files and preparing detailed spreadsheets
  • Monitoring and calendaring all required duties, meetings, and deadlines
  • Assisting with communications between McBride or its affiliates and outside counsel, bookkeepers, title companies, and property management companies.
  • Assisting with the annual tax filings, meeting notices, insurance renewals, etc.
  • Reviewing and summarizing collections and financial data for in-house counsel review
  • Communicating with McBride affiliated development companies to gather financial data and records necessary to satisfy financial obligations of the CID Communities
  • Managing a master list of all CID Communities
• Assisting in-house counsel and the project management team with managing McBride's engagement with HOAs and third-party management companies for such associations:
  • Analyzing HOA legal documents including Covenants Conditions and Restrictions (CCRs), By-Laws, community rules and regulations
  • Communicate with third-party management companies regarding homeowner issues and requests including architectural applications and assessment issues
  • Make recommendations to HOA directors/Project Managers regarding architectural applications, assessments, and general HOA governance
  • Advise HOA directors / project managers regarding HOA director turnover, voting and collections matters
  • Review and analyze HOA annual budgets
• When not working on CID or HOA duties, Paralegal will undertake general legal support duties, including:
  • Preparing/editing legal documents, correspondence, and contracts
  • Conducting legal research and providing litigation support
  • Assisting with municipal applications and presentations
  • Paper and electronic file organization

Requirements Include:

• Paralegal or Accounting Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience in the real estate field and/or accounting field preferred
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
• Ability to adapt, meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and work independently
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner
