McBride Homes is seeking a talented Architect to join our architecture team. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential designs, a passion for innovation, and strong leadership skills. As an Architect, you will play a critical role in the development and execution of residential project designs, collaborating with internal clients, designers, engineers, and the construction staff. This is an in-office position located in our new state-of-the-art facility in Chesterfield Valley.

Salary: $120,000-$130,000/yr. depending on experience and an annual discretionary bonus opportunity.

Position Summary:

The Senior Architect will lead residential architectural efforts from concept through construction, ensuring design excellence, code compliance, efficiency, and constructability across a high-volume production environment. This role requires strong technical expertise, mentorship capability, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally while maintaining high quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the design and development of residential architectural projects from concept through construction documentation
  • Serve as a senior technical resource for architectural standards, detailing, and code compliance
  • Coordinate closely with in-house land development, engineering, estimating, purchasing, and field construction teams
  • Review and approve construction drawings, plan sets, and specifications for accuracy, consistency, and efficiency
  • Establish and maintain CAD/BIM standards, libraries, and workflows; mentor team members on best practices
  • Ensure quality control across all architectural deliverables, including work produced by junior staff
  • Conduct site visits as needed to ensure design intent and construction compliance
  • Support product innovation, value engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives across the portfolio

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Architect in the State of Missouri (required)
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
  • 5-10 years of professional architectural experience, with a strong focus on residential design
  • Extensive knowledge of residential building codes, construction methods, and production housing standards
  • High proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
